Birthday, Birthday and Birthday

Birthday, birthday and birthday..... Ramai pula celebrated birthday in April, my eldest sister, my father, truly yours, Husna (Adik's best friend) and a few more friend and relatives.... Saya buat birthday cakes for them but not for myself.

Yesterday, staff at the office gave me a slice of carrot cake for my belated birthday cake. Ingat juga dia orang...

Carrot cake is my favorite. They bought it from The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Sedaaaapppp. Thanks Arfa, Fadz, Mazy and Zainal.

I made this cake for Meera (Akak's friend). She ordered for her brother, Anuar, who was celebrating his 16th birthday last month. She told me that her brother is a bookworm and loves basketball. So I made book cake with basketball player figurines as the deco.

Princess cake ini saya buat untuk Husna (kawan baik Adik). Adik told me Husna loves green color, so, I decided to dress the Princess with green dress.

Last weekend my hubby invited his staff and office mates to our house for breakfast. I made mixed fruits trifle for the dessert. (The rest of the food, I ordered from a few places.) I baked the sponge vanilla cakes a day in advanced then I made the custard on the day I assembled the trifle. I din't use the readymix cake and custard. For me the homemade cake and custard taste better.

Selamat Pengantin Baru Hidayah & Nazri Part 2

This is the continuation from Selamat Pengantin Baru Hidayah & Nazri Part 1. Ini pula post untuk majlis di rumah Nazri @ Ulu Tiram, Johor. This is the first time saya sampai ke Ulu Tiram. Pada hari Sabtu 17 April yang lalu, saya sekeluarga bertolak from Shah Alam selepas subuh untuk wedding reception di rumah Nazri. Mula2 plan nak bertolak awal pagi, sebelum subuh, sebab kami akan singgah ke rumah my sister (Hidayah's mom) di Pontian. Convoy beramai2 ke Ulu Tiram.

Tepat pukul 4 pagi alarm menjerit2 suruh bangun.... Saya terjaga, tapi tangan dengan lajunya switch off the alarm, dan sambung tidur.... Terjaga betul2 sebelum azan subuh. So terpaksalah bertolak selepas subuh. Sampai @ my sister house terus breakfast... Kakak saya masak nasi lemak, sedap.... makan berpinggan2...

Pukul 11 pagi kami sekeluarga bersama keluarga kakak dan ayah saya bertolak ke Ulu Tiram. Jauh juga lah perjalanan. Sampai di rumah untuk kami berehat sebelum kami ke rumah pengantin lelaki, saya pun keluarkan orange cake yang saya buat special untuk Kakak dan Ayah saya. Kakak saya baru menyambut hari lahir dan hari ulang tahun perkahwinan (yang keberapa? Tak ingat lah pulak) pada 12 April yang lalu. Birthday Ayah saya pula falls on 17 April. So cake yang saya buat ini untuk alll occassion lah, 3 in 1.... macam syampoo...

Kali ini saya buat orange cake, saja nak tukar selera.... Asyik2 chocolate cake.... Flavour for this cake is using original flavouring, which is grated orange peel. I used orange marmalade and buttercream icing as the filling and the whole cake was covered with orange flavoured buttercream icing. Orange marmalade and orange were used as the topping.

Ayah saya refused to cut the cake. Tak pernah celebrated his birthday dengan memotong cake. Tertinggal lilin "Happy Birthday" kat rumah...  So tak ada lilin untuk cake ini....

Ini pula gambar2 di rumah Nazri. Kami spent masa agak lama juga di rumah tempat kami berehat. Pukul 2 ptg baru kami berarak kerumah Nazri....

Selamat Pengantin Baru Hidayah & Nazri Part 1

10 April 2010 adalah tanggal keramat buat Hidayah (my niece) dan Nazri. Alhamdulillah, pada pagi sabtu yang lalu, Nazri selamat melafazkan ijab dengan sekali lafaz.... Legaaa...Itulah yang terpancar di wajah Nazri dan kaum keluarga...

Ini adalah cake hantaran dari Hidayah buat Nazri.... Mula2 saya nak buat deco bertemakan warna putih... Suci.... tapi my hubby said, nampak macam plain sangat....So, saya tukar cupcake cover from white to slightly greenish color.....Saya rasa kali ni tak ceria lah pulak cupcakes yang  saya buat ini... Akak kata masa saya buat cake tu mesti mood saya tak ceria. Sebab tu cupcake kurang ceria... Memang fikiran agak bercelaru masa tu.... Banyak kerja kat ofis yang tak selesai.

Ini pula wedding cupcake for Hidayah and Nazri.... Yellow roses with green background. Hidayah memilih hijau sebagai tema majlis perkahwinan ini. So I have to choose colors which are suitable with green. Fikir punya fikir, akhirnya saya memilih yellow roses as the cake topper.
