Selamat Pengantin Baru Aliza & Azahan

Aliza (my niece) and Azahan wedding ceremony and reception was held last weekend at Aliza's parent house in Johor Bahru. Aliza wished to have bag cake with Nike logo as cake "hantaran" and cupcakes with heart shape cake, and the wedding theme color was turquoise.

Since the wedding ceremony was on Friday nite, I left Shah Alam after lunch. I praying very hard for us to reach Aliza's house before the ceremony start. Luckily, we reach there before maghrib.

 The wedding reception was held on the next day. So after "majlis pernikahan" we went to the hotel. I have to decorate the wedding cake and cupcakes. Another sleepless night for me. I choose turquoise color as the base and decorated with white flowers, and pink and violet butterflies.

Turquoise Wedding Theme

These lovely hearts and flowers are specially handmade for my niece wedding this weekend. Her theme wedding color is turquoise, and I have promised her that I will make wedding cake and her "hantaran" cake with the same theme color. I am planning to have the cake covered with turquoise white flowers and white hearts as deco.

My niece indicated that se prefer to have daisy flower as deco. I did researhon daisy and find out that there are varieties of daisies. As stated in The Flower Expert "A Daisy symbolizes innocence and purity. It can also symbolize new beginnings. The flower meaning of daisy is “loyal love”, “I will never tell”".

For the "hantaran", I promised her that I will make a bag (cake) for her. To make a bag with turquoise and white theme for man is not easy. Well, just wait and see.... I am still doing research on bag for man...

This week will be a very busy week for me... I have a few deadlines at the office, and also deadline for the cakes... I am praying very, very hard so that I can complete all deadlines on time...

Golden Butterfly

I made these cuppies and cake for Zaidah. She gave these cakes for her friend's daughter wedding as cake hantaran. She wanted something similar to another cake hantaran I made for my friend, the only different is the color. She told me the wedding theme is golden color. Unfortunately, due to very short notice (she call me on monday and the wedding was on friday), I didn't manage to get similar bride and groom figurines. I hope the bride and her mother like the cakes.

Cafe, Organic Halal Food

Today I saw an advertisement for business opportunity, to be a franchisee for one of a leading cafe... I told Aiman about it and his answer was no!!! He said I should be marketing my own brand and my own products, not selling somebody else products.... Betul gak...

I should have started with my marketing strategy.... Thinking of positioning my products under halal, fresh and organic based.... But in Malaysia, organic halal based food is still expensive... If the basic ingredients is expensive, it is very difficult to charge the customer at normal price!

Sekarang ni kadang2 tanda halal juga meragukan.... Ada setengah makanan berlabel "halal" issued by Jakim, tapi sesetengah pihak mengatakan tidak halal. Macam mana ya? Last Sunday, Batrisyia, my youngest daughter bought junk food with halal logo, but one of Afiqah's friend said that it is not halal and contain "pig fat"..... Ha?????

Ramadhan - Syawal

It has been too long i did not update my blog. When was the last time I update it? August 19, eh lamanya... 2 bulan.... Patutlah dah berhabuk dan bersawang... Ish, ish,ish...

Actually tak ada cerita menarik nak update... Sepanjang bulan puasa saya bercuti from baking... Saja nak relax... Awal bulan puasa, Adik was warded at SDMC. Then, penghujung bulan puasa hingga 9 Syawal, saya dan keluarga menghabiskan cuti kami di Makkah dan Madinah. Dapatlah berpuasa dan berhari raya di sana. Bila balik, sibuk dengan open houses dan tak ada masa untuk baking. I received call from wedding planner nak tempah cake bentuk "car turbo", terpaksa saya tolak.... Betul-betul tak sempat...

Bila nak start lagi baking pun saya tak pasti...
