Dah buat kuih untuk hari raya? Atau tengah sibuk masak untuk berbuka? Masa ni lah boleh mencuba resepi2 yang tak pernah dicuba kan?

Lepas tu kan, pernah tak masa tengah sibuk2 masak, tiba2 tengok bahan yang kita nak gunakan dah expired? Frust sungguh kan....


Agak2 lah kan berapa lama kita boleh simpan bahan2 masakan kita? Dan masih selamat untuk di gunakan dan rasa bahan2 tu masih tidak berubah... 

Di sini saya kongsikan dua website yang kita boleh refer. Below is the excerpt from The Chef Yusuf Show that can be used as reference... Boleh juga refer to Still Tasty website. Banyak panduan yang berguna di kedua2 website ini....



  1. Flour unopened: up to 12 months. Opened: 6-8 months.
  2. Sugar unopened: 2 years. Sugars do not spoil but eventually may change flavor.
  3. Brown sugar unopened: 4 months.
  4. Confectioners sugar unopened: 18 months.
  5. Solid shortening unopened: 8 months. Opened: 3 months.
  6. Cocoa unopened: indefinitely. opened: 1 year.
  7. Whole spices: 2-4 years. Whether or not opened.
  8. Ground spices: 2-3 years. Whether or not opened.
  9. Paprika, red pepper and chili powder: 2 years
  10. Baking soda unopened: 18 months. Opened: 6 months.
  11. Baking powder unopened: 6 months. Opened: 3 months.
  12. Cornstarch: 18 months. Whether or not opened.
  13. Dry pasta made without eggs unopened: 2 years.Opened: 1 year.
  14. Dry egg noodles unopened: 2 years. Opened: 1-2 months.
  15. Salad dressing unopened: 10-12 months.Opened: 3 months if refrigerated.
  16. Honey: 1 year. Whether or not opened.
  17. Ground, canned coffee unopened: 2 years.Opened: 2 weeks, if refrigerated.
  18. Jams, jellies and preserves unopened: 1 year. Opened: 6 months if refrigerated.
  19. Peanut butter unopened: 6-9 months. Opened: 2-3 months.
